I am a globally trained physician-scientist, policy lead, and social entrepreneur working at the intersection of public policy, global health, and academia. A Technical Consultant at the World Health Organization’s Brain Health Unit, my vision is to improve evidence-informed policymaking, foster global brain health, and generate a lasting social impact.
Before joining WHO, I served as Head of Policy and Research at the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) following previous roles as a practicing physician, research scientist, and co-founder of the non-profit organization R3SOLUTE.
My core interests lie in public health policy, neurology/brain health, digital health/AI, and conflict prevention, with publications in The Lancet Global Health, Neuro-Oncology, Neurology, IJHPM, and The Brookings Institution Press, and speaking engagements at various international platforms. I also serve as a Commissioner for the Lancet Commission on Neurorehabilitation.
An affiliate researcher at the MGH Cancer Center at Harvard Medical School and alumnus of the German National Academic Foundation, I hold a Ph.D. (summa cum laude; '22) and M.D. (Distinction; '20) from Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin and a B.Sc. (First Class Honours; '13) in Neuroscience from King’s College London, UK.
